Warm, melodic guitar music to make your spirit smile
Since picking up guitar at 13, writing music has always been a love of mine. I grew up playing in New Jersey and New York at places like Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, and Mercury Lounge with ippazzi, an indie band I was in for several years. After heading down south to UNC for college, I spent time playing with my folk duo, 1005 Urban around Durham, NC. Since then, I’ve been in the Bay Area for the past decade and it’s become home. The music I tend to create now ranges from a mix of bluesy, clean tube sounds, to acoustic-folk style finger picking, to rhythmic grooves, to ambient-style jams. Feel free to have a listen for yourself.
Even though I’ve always loved playing guitar and songwriting, my life took a different path when I decided to explore my interests in startups and entrepreneurship after college. That path led me into learning about sales, marketing, coding and all the things that go into starting something from scratch. Fast forward 10-ish years after co-founding a software company, moving to San Francisco, selling it years later, getting a bit burnt out in the tech world, and I feel like I’ve come full circle - back to playing and creating music for the fun of it. It’s been too long and it feels good :)
“Danny’s compositions are a 3D soundscape that take the listener on a wild emotional journey. Colorful arrangements and unexpected colors keep your ears wanting more. A brilliant balance of masterful guitar work, production, and songwriting.”
songs from new zealand
On March 1, 2020, my partner and I left SF for what we thought would be a backpacking trip around the world. Those plans quickly changed one week in while camper-vanning our way around the South Island of New Zealand. That week soon turned into a month of lockdown and then into a year of exploring the beauty of New Zealand. It was like living in a parallel universe compared to what was happening everywhere else in the world. A weird juxtaposed reality. These songs come directly from that time. A time of quiet introspection mixed with a sense of unbound adventure.
